Rare earth (NdFeb) magnets are many times stronger than ferrite ceramic and alnico magnets.

This was discovered by Andy, one of our kids who tested different magnet types for an elementary school science experiment and found that a single neodymium rare earth magnet holds thirteen (8 1/2 X 11 24 lb) sheets of paper!
